Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

About Kelli

Kelli is a wife, a mother of three little ones, and the Founder of Rooted In Wellness. She is a Registered Nurse with over a decade of experience in Labor & Delivery and a trained CFT Practitioner in the Gillespie Approach. She is also trained in CST through Lori Hendrickson.

After the birth of her second child, Kelli started searching for more holistic healing approaches and eventually came across CFT. After witnessing how much of a positive impact CFT had on her own family and friends, she decided to extend her passion to help other families.

Kelli is trained to work on all adults, children, and infants, and is especially passionate about staying true to her roots and helping pregnant mamas and babies. Her favorite part about CFT is being able to help facilitate and witness the body’s ability to heal itself through its innate wisdom, as designed by our Creator.

What is CFT?

Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) is a gentle, hands-on technique that facilitates healing by relieving tension in the body and focusing on the source of strain, rather than just treating symptoms. Given its non-invasive, holistic approach, CFT is safe for everyone and can help with numerous physical and emotional conditions.

CFT is based on the body’s innate wisdom to heal itself given the appropriate time, space, and opportunity to do so. It is unique because it takes into account the fascial web, which covers every structure of the body from head to toe. Tight fascia can lead to discomfort, pain, and dysfunction, and CFT helps guide this healing process by releasing fascial strain to allow for optimal mobility and brain function.

FAQ

  • While both CST and CFT are gentle, hands-on techniques that help relieve tension in the body, CFT takes into account and focuses on the fascial web. CFT is based on the theory that the craniosacral system is connected to the fascial system, and they work together as one complete system. Addressing fascial strain often plays a significant role in the body’s healing journey.

  • Fascia is a web of thin, flexible connective tissue that covers all structures of the brain and body. Fascial strain and tension can cause physical distortions, as well as nerve and circulatory dysfunction.

Physical and emotional trauma can cause fascial tension, leading to nerve, muscle, organ, blood, lymph, and bone dysfunction. CFT gently releases fascial tension to allow for optimal mobility and brain function, which facilitates the body’s healing process.

  • Some of the top conditions that CFT can help relieve are listed below:

    • Adults: Migraines & Headaches, TMJ, Anxiety, Emotional Trauma, Digestive Issues, Neck & Back Pain, Poor Range of Motion, Sleep & Airway Issues, Nervous System Regulation

    • Children: Migraines & Headaches, Earaches, Digestive Issues, Bedwetting, Asthma, Mouth Breathing, Pre & Post Orthodontic Work, Scoliosis

    • Infants: Oral Restrictions, Pre & Post Tongue-Tie Release, Latching Issues, Constipation, Reflux, Colic, Torticollis, Sleep & Airway Issues, Birth Trauma

  • Because each person is unique and responds to CFT differently, there is no way to predict how many sessions will be needed. Some individuals will experience positive results almost immediately and require fewer sessions, while others will need more, consistent sessions over a longer period of time.

  • Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended because tight clothing can be restrictive and limit fascial release. All CFT sessions are done fully clothed.
